Red Panda, a rare and endangered animal, lives in Langtang National Park and we would like to show you. Red Panda Trail is a newly established trek developed in an effort to save this animal. The route is not formally opened yet but we know the trail and without disturbing it's habitat we will take you through the forest. The walk is easy but silent as much as possible. We live in the village homestays. More information will be provided upon request.
BRIEF ITINERARY Day 1. Drive Kathmandu to Barkhu. Walk 2 hours and arrive in Brabal. Overnight at homestays with Tamang families. Day 2. Walk Brabal to Syabru and then to Phoprang. Continue walk through bamboo forest (silent walk) and arrive Sing Gompa. Overnight at Red Panda Lodge. Day 3. Walk to Phulum Gompa. Continue walk through bamboo forest to see red panda. (Walk must be very quiet and slow). Back to Red Panda hotel. Day 4. Walk downhill to Dhunche. Overnight at hotel. Day 5. Return Kathmandu by bus or private jeep.
Group size: min 2 persons. Best time: March till June, Sept. till mid Nov. Cost: Depends on group size. Please email us Includes: accommodation in lodges on twin sharing basis during the trek, dinner and breakfast, an English speaking guide, one porter for two trekkers, airport pickup and drop in Kathmandu.
