Sherap Lama
ImageSherap comes from Brabal a small village in the Langtang National Park. For the last twelve years he has been photographing and documenting his dying culture and tradition. He has travelled and trekked almost everywhere in the Langtang area. He loves to follow the Tamang Shamans to take part in every rituals his village has to offer. Every year in August he travels to Ladakh on 500CC Royal Enfield taking group riders with his partner friend Peter Francon. "Trekkers come and go, but what I want them to experience is the natural beauty, interact with the local people, share their culture and traditions and return with a fond memory that they can cherish for the rest of their life." Sherap's dream is to turn his village Brabal into a new homestay tourism destination.
 
Sonam Dhey Tamang
ImageSonam nick named "Ma Kyalu" is one of the most popular Tamang singers in Langtang. He runs a tea house lodge in Syabru Bensi - the first day stop on all Langtang Treks. His enthusiasm, knowledge of local culture and tradition and deep rooted connection with all the people on Langtang makes it fun to be travelling with him. He has trekked all over Langtang and have passed thorugh many high passes of Langtang.
 
Dawa Gyaltsen Tamang
ImageDawa Gyaltsen is also a native of Langtang. Speaks good English and has trekked throughout Langtang at such an early age of 20. Due to family situation he couldn't continue education so we invited him to join our team because of his vast knowledge of the trekking routes. He now goes to a local college and is seeking to appear in private exams. We wish him luck! It is nice to have him in our team he enjoys outdoors.
 
Double Dorje Tamang
ImageDouble Dorje Tamang is son of Sonam Dhey and loves trekking. He's trekked to Kyanjin Gompa (3600m) as a freelance porter with many trekkers. He studied upto +2 and is also active in the village social service activities. He loves meeting new people and is always calm and peaceful in nature.
 
Nim Dorje Tamang
ImageNim Dorje Tamang lives in Brabal. His family runs a small tea shop. He is active, young and energetic and has trekked in Langtang area for many years as a support staff for many agencies in Kathmandu. He is now with Visit Langtang and we are happy to have him as he is another native of Langtang and he is one of our family members.
 
Dharma Tamang
ImageDharma Tamang also a native of Langtang is popularly known as the horse-man. He walks like horse and carries loads like horse. He has assisted many trekkers in crossing Ganja La pass (5100m) high pass while crossing from Langtang to Helambu. During off season he spends time taking care of his herbal farm. His vast knowledge of local medicial herbs is an added asset for people who like to come to Langtang to research about the healing elements of medicial plants that grows in Langtang National Park. 
 
Phurbu Dorje Tamang
ImagePhurbu is a trained, licensed guide. He is also native of Langtang, married with two kids he has worked as volunteer and as a census data collector before joining our team. He lives in Syabru Bensi from where all of our trek starts. He is young, energetic and has travelled extensively through Langtang region and other parts of Nepal.
 
Tsewang Lama
ImageTsewang Lama (Tamang) comes from Brabal. He has lived and worked in Kathmandu as well as in Lhasa. We are excited to have Tsewang in our team as he is also native of Langtang and speaks Tamang, Tibetan, English, Hindi and Nepali. He has connection in almost every villages in Langtang National Park and beyond. When he is free he lives in Brabal and is also the incharge of the Brabal's Tsedup Choling Monastery which was actually built by his father. Unfortunately his father died before the monastery was complete. Currently he is leading a trek in Tamang Heritage Trail and will be back in Brabal on 11th March.
